Bonnieīs story
"I finished work in april 2008, so with extra time on my hands, I decided to start going to the gym. I was 60 this year, well overweight (like nearly 11 stone) and only 5 ft tall.
So, one sunday, having walked around the market looking at all the clothes and not finding anything that would remotely fit, I walked across the road and straight into "Heartbeat Gym".
That was the last sunday in april and here we are now, the last sunday in august. Nearly 2 stone lighter, with lots of trendy type clothes and everyone saying how well I look!
That in itself is really good, but thatīs not the best part. The best part is how I feel, up and down stairs, up and down hills, not out of breath, no stopping for a rest every so often. I feel really well, with so much more energy! People say to me"I canīt possibly work out in the gym, I have arthritis". Well so do I, but I work with it. If thereīs something I canīt do, so what? Iīll do something else! My hands and arms are so much stronger and more fluid. I can do far more with them now than 10 years ago. Lotīs of you will know me from when I had Restaurant Bonnies. Youīll know what Iīm talking about. I now go to the gym every other day (more, depending on how I feel). I could do as much or as little as I want but I find 1 hour enough for me. When I started I would go all on my own (scary, I thought) but eveyone is made welcome. So much so, that my daughter Karen has decided to join as well. I used to think that everyone would be in the proverbial "lycra", but not so. You can wear what you like, as long as itīs comfortable and you can move in it. Itīs the best thing I could have done for myself! You can often find me down at the beach in a "Bikini" this summer. I havenīt done that for a few years!! I have attached a photo that was taken of me by a customer last year and another one of me NOW."
Thank you Heartbeat Gym.
Yours sincerely.
